China’s Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI) is seeking industry experts to draft and formulate a national standard for using hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.
CESI said applicants must be familiar with environmental protection and related RoHS control policies and standards in the country.
An industry source told Chemical Watch News & Insight that it might take one to two years for the revised standard to be issued. It will eventually replace existing standard SJ/T 11364-2014, Labelling Requirements for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products.
Last year, CESI consulted on a revised voluntary national standard that outlines a system for companies to manage restricted substances in electrical and electronic products under its RoHS2 regulation.
